If you have devices which you need to have verified for their level of safety, you may trust SAICON certified safety advisors to perform the necessary audit.

As a result, you will receive a detailed report on the condition of the potentially faulty units, with suggestions for areas needing improvement and proposals for solutions to ensure the compliance with the applicable regulations.

Subsequently, we will conduct an adaptation of your devices to the binding standards and regulations. Thus, you will gain confidence that your devices do not jeopardize the safety of your staff. When designing safety systems, we do our very best to combine all the safety measures with intuitive and ergonomic operation solutions, in order to obtain maximum levels of security, while maintaining the expected targets of Performance Level (PL).

Risk minimization

When designing safety systems, we will do our very best to combine all the safety measures with intuitive and ergonomic operation solutions, in order to obtain maximum levels of security, while maintaining the expected efficiency targets.

Our safety system solutions comply with the corresponding safety specifications for control systems – 13849-1:2016 – and all other applicable standards, in conformity with the provisions of The Machine Directive 2006/42/WE. Such an approach allows for the safe operation of the system over its whole life cycle.

Risk reduction process

The selection of safety solutions is preceded by a detailed risk analysis which, in turn, is the starting point for further risk reduction, in order to ensure safe, trouble-free machine operation. It is an iterative mutli-stage process. Based on the performed analysis, the requisite level of protection (PL) for specific safety functions is ascertained.

The conclusive step, the final safety system validation, consists in precise testing of all safety related functions and devices. The successfully completed validation is documented in a form of an internal safety report, which states that the given machine can be put into operation.

The following elements influence the achievement of a certain Performance Level:

  • CAT - category of control system (its physical structure)
  • MTTFd - Mean Time To Failure
  • DC - diagnostic coverage
  • CFF - common cause failures

Based on all above elements is determined the Performance Level (PL) for each safety function.

If all safety functions meet the required PL, the machine can be built and started.

The conclusive step is final validation of the safety system, consisting of precise testing of all safety related functions and devices. Successfully completed validation is documented in a form of an internal safety report, which states that the given machine can be put into operation.
